Christmas with our Cousins

Every year right before Christmas we get together with all of my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, cousins, Great Aunts, Great Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles on my mom's side of the family. It is always a lot of fun. This year was extra special, because Santa came (though, my sister and I thought he looked a lot like our Grandpa). Regardless, we made sure we sat on his lap and told him what we wanted for Christmas:) It was a great time and we can't wait 'til next year.

Jungle Bells

Riley and I are big Mario fans and just happened to
wear the same shirt. It was a total coincidence:)
My sister and me with Asher, Riley, Baylee and their cousin Emma.

Our friends the Rains Family came down last weekend. So we met them at the zoo. I had so much fun hanging out with my friend Baylee, oh, I mean Riley. For some reason I keep calling Riley, Baylee. I am getting better at calling him the right name. Thanks Rains Family for the wonderful time.

Christmas Program

This year at my school we had a Christmas performance called "The Unfriendly Beasts." I was a frog in the play and had a great time singing. My parents were so impressed and thought they did a great job making the costumes.

Thanksgiving 2010

For Thanksgiving we went to my Grandma and Grandpa's house. My sister and I were so excited, because we have not been up there, since before I started school. We had a great time playing with our cousins and celebrating my cousin Elisha's birthday:)

School Pictures

Here is my first school picture.

Halloween 2010

The Princess and Captain Rex
Our friends Kaylee and Mikey
The trick or treating crew
This year we went over my friend Dane's for some pre-trick or treating fun and then our friends Kaylee and Mikey came over so we could all go trick or treating. I got a lot of candy, my sister didn't get as much, because she was more selective about what houses she would go trick or treating at.

Pumpkin Carving

This year we carved pumpkins for the first time. My sister helped my dad clean them out (I didn't have much of an interest in cleaning out that gross stuff) and then we picked the design that we wanted our dad to carve.

Boo Parade

This year we went to the Boo Parade! We went to the parade with Alexander and Trish and then met our friends Ty and Josh at the Carnival. The parade was fun, but my sister didn't like all of the scary costumes. While we were at the carnival she saw a girl with the Scream costume on and freaked out. We had fun eating kettle corn and riding the dragon ride.

Fire Station

Our neighborhood fire station had an open house last month. So my mom and I went to go check it out. It was really cool getting a tour from the Captain and getting to sit in the trucks. My sister didn't want to go so she stayed home with my dad.

1st Field Trip

The beginning of October I had my first kinder field trip. We went to the post office and mailed letters to our reading buddies. We had a great time being out of the classroom.

Birthday #3

So last month my sister had her 3rd birthday. She had been talking about it for months. First she wanted a Mario party like me, then a Toy Story, then Cars, Spiderman and the list goes on. So my parents decided to have a multi themed party. Needless to say my sister loved it and had a great time.

First Day of School

While many of my friends had their first day of school today, I have been going for a few weeks already (my mom has once again been lagging). I was pretty excited and a little nervous. I think it helped that we had orientation the week before and my good friend Dane is in my class. I am 3 weeks in and couldn't be happier. I love going to school and am having a blast with my new friends.

No More Crib:(

On the 4th my sister slept in her big girl bed for the first time. While we were gone at Grandma and Grandpa's house dad put it together so that it would be ready when we got home. My mom was a little sad to see the crib go, but it was time, especially since Rylen is potty trained now. She did a great job transitioning:)

4th of July

Before marshmallows
After marshmallows

For the 4th of July weekend we went to my Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a blast swimming, playing with our cousins and basically doing anything we wanted. We came home on the afternoon of the 4th to celebrate with our dad since he didn't make it up there with us. We barbequed, roasted marshmallows and watched fireworks. It was a great holiday weekend! My mom forgot her camera when we were up at G&G's, so we just have pictures from the 4th.

Shopping

This is what my sister got to do while my dad was waiting for my mom to finish her shopping. I am just bummed I decided to go with mom and not stay with dad. Staying with dad would have been a lot more fun. My mom had no idea this was going on and when she found out that they left all the pillows there, she was not too pleased.

Potty Training

On the evening of June 16th, my mom asked my sister if she wanted to go on the potty like she often does, expecting my sister to decline the offer. On this evening my sister said, "Yes!" She not only said, yes, but actually went and continued to go about 20 times in an hour. Every time she went, she would say, "Did you hear that?" So needless to say that was the beginning of training and she has done awesome ever since. She had her fair share of accidents the following day, but after that she has been amazing. My mom says she has been way easier to train then I was, because I refused to go poop forever!!! Below is a picture of her big debut. We are so proud of her.

Playgroup Family Picnic

Our family picnic with our playgroup was the official end of our group. It is amazing how fast five years goes by. Most of us have been friends since we were babies. I am going to miss seeing them on a regular basis, but look forward to making new friends in kindergarten.

Swim Lessons

The beginning of June I started swim lessons with my good friend Jackson. It is amazing how fast you can learn to swim when you have an awesome teacher.

Father's Day!

For Father's Day we went to the Padre Game. We got a glove and my dad bought us a ball to play catch with while we were there (he's always thinking of us). It was a good game, the Padres won, though we only lasted until about the end of the 4th inning. The best part was playing catch with my dad and playing at the playground. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot about the popcorn!

Visit from Great Aunt and Great Uncle

The weekend after my birthday our Great Aunt Brenda and Great Uncle Chuck came out to CA from Iowa, while they were here they made a trip down to see us and meet us for the first time. We had such a great time with them and were so happy to finally meet them:)
